Haha, yes! I wanted my OWN pizza to eat all by myself and had to justify it, so I said I didn't eat cheese. And then...... well. I'm nothing if not stubbornly committed to the cause.
I read The Fall of Whit Rivera by Crystal Maldonado last week and it’s the first book I have ever read with a teenager with PCOS. And had queer and fat representation too and the book boyfriend was also pretty great. Centered female friendship in a nice way too and we saw her friends fully show up for her when she has health complications due to her PCOS. Absolutely loved it.
my kids are also obsessed with benson boone, although i'm fairly certain my 5 year old doesn't know him by name, just the song her older siblings constantly request when we're in the car. i don't get the appeal. but i am also clearly not the target audience.
and also, I feel this. getting words out lately has been tough. and when i do get them out, it sort of feels like it's falling flat.
hang in there. i'm grateful for what you have to say, when you say it.
I've always been a sucker for a singer with a guitar and who can hit the high notes (except John Mayer - I'm more along the lines of Howie Day and James Blunt), so I also enjoy Benson Boone, which is great considering he was previously on the Blippi train again and that does not help with the auditory overstimulation challenges....
And thank you. I don't know what's up with my emotions but kind words are really making my eyes do weird things today! And I have the same gratitude to you, and while it's not a great place to be in together, I'm glad I'm not alone in it.
THAT'S why you didn't eat cheese??
The Sequel was very good. Probably the last book I read that I would recommend (and I've read at least ten since then...).

That's great! And very well-rounded, it sounds like, in terms of representation and inclusiveness. I haven't heard of it but I'll take a look!
